Dr. Shawn Burke-Storer (Conductor, Tartuffe) Known for his dynamic and inspiring leadership on and off the podium, Shawn Burke-Storer is making a profound musical impact throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region and beyond. He recently completed his Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Orchestral Conducting from Catholic University of America, and is Associate Conductor of the CUA Symphony Orchestra, Music Director of the Light Opera Company of Southern Maryland and Principal

Guest Conductor of the Richmond Philharmonic.

He has served as Music Director of the Charles Street Chamber Players and the Tantalus Chamber Orchestra, Assistant Conductor of the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra for three years and Assistant and Cover Conductor for the Minnesota Orchestra on multiple occasions.

Hailed as a “hip, young, upcoming talent” by the Towson Times, after leading the BCO in residency at Towson University’s Sounds of Summer, his recent and upcoming guest conducting engagements include appearances with the Lafayette (IN) and Londontowne (MD) Symphony Orchestras. He recently led the Catholic University Opera Theater production of Menotti’s The Old Maid and the Thief and the LOCSM production of Lehar’s The Merry Widow. This summer he again led the LOCSM in Victor Herbert’s Naughty Marietta. He was also recently chosen as one of twenty-four conductors from around the world to participate in the Vakhtang Jordania International Conducting Competition in Kharkov, Ukraine.
