Alicia Oliver-Krueger (Musical Director-The Stoned Guest, Donna Anna-Don Giovanni, Countess Almaviva-Marriage of Figaro) has been very busy this year. She has just sung Josephine in H.M.S. Pinafore with Victorian Lyric Opera Company. The Washington Post praised her recent Pamina in VLOC’s The Magic Flute and said of her Iolanthe with the Washington Savoyards: “Ali Oliver sings with maternal warmth, and is most affecting in ‘My lord, a suppliant

at your feet.’” Earlier this summer, Alicia sang with the Washington Cornett and Sackbutt
Ensemble in the First Annual Early Music Festival. Regional credits include concert appearances throughout New England, Die Fledermaus with Nevada Opera, Paminas with Nevada Opera Studio and OPERA Iowa, and an apprenticeship with Des Moines Metro Opera. She has sung Elle in La voix humaine, Euridice in Orfeo ed Euridice, Antonia in Les contes d’Hoffmann, Prima Donna in Viva la mamma, and most of the female roles in The Magic Flute. Acting credits include such varied roles as Abigail in The Crucible, Olivia in Twelfth Night, Jo Calloway in A Few Good Men, Cinderella and The Witch in productions of Into the Woods, and Bessie Burgess in The Plough and the Stars. As a director, Alicia has specialized in productions of new works, and was the director of The Playwrights Forum, a series of staged readings showcasing original works by local playwrights in Connecticut. Alicia is active in arts education, both as a teaching artist and as an arts administrator. She was the first Program-Education Director of Young Audiences of Connecticut. Currently, Alicia is a company manager and teaching artist with InterAct Story Theatre, an educational theatre company based in Silver Spring. She is currently developing an Operabuilding workshop for students, which will be available through InterAct Story Theatre starting fall 2004.
