Soprano Tausha Torrez (Carmen Ghia-The Stoned Guest) is an acclaimed soloist who has been hailed by the Washington Post as having “...A bel canto voice and mastery of coloratura technique worthy of a Donizetti heroine.” She has appeared in such roles as Blondchen, Zerlina, Ann Page, Valencienne, Princess Margaret, Yum Yum and Mabel.

Ms. Torrez recently appeared with the Kennedy Center Opera Orchestra

in their annual production of the Messiah.

She has also been a featured soloist with the National Men’s Chorus, the Maryland Choral Society, the Fairfax Choral Society, Fieri Washington International, and the New Dominion Chorale.

Her captivating presence and musical precision have earned her the honors of the 2006 AMI national winner, a national finalist in the Classical Singer AudComps and the Marie E. Crump vocal competition and a regional finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.

Ms. Torrez is a graduate of Brigham Young University, where she received the Young Artist Award, given to the top five singers in the school of music. After graduating, she spent two seasons as an apprentice with the Utah Festival Opera. Ms. Torrez currently studies with Elizabeth Daniels in metropolitan D.C. area.
