The Forgotten Opera Company (FOC) was spawned in 2004 by a ragtag group of creative artists in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area. Our goal is to connect the community to opera by providing quality productions that are both affordable and accessible to our audiences. FOC celebrates fresh interpretations of the classics and innovative explorations of lesser known works. We promote non-traditional casting and the use of local talent. FOC is committed to connecting opera back to the community through a variety of service projects and educational outreach programs.

We recently became incorporated in Montgomery County, Maryland, and are in the process of applying for 501(c)3, tax-exempt status.

At the moment, we are what is often described as a "no pay, no fee" company. Below is a listing of some of the artists who have worked with our company in some capacity:

Philip Bender, John Boulanger, Kiersten Drumm, Blair Eig, Dingwall Fleary, Michael Galizia, LeeAnna Xanthos-McQueen, Deborah Niezgoda, Alicia Oliver-Krueger, Shawn Perry, Amy Rauch, Andrea Schewe, Julie Stevens, Stephen Stokes, Willie Weiss, Denise Young.
