This is not your Big Daddy's Tartuffe.  Or maybe it is.

The Forgotten Opera Company presents its production of Kirke Mechem's comic opera Tartuffe as part of the 2008 Capital Fringe Festival. Based on the classic farce of Moliere, the opera sets an original English-language libretto written by the composer to music described at its 1980 premiere as "inspired, handsomely suited to the purpose and wildly effective at every turn" (San Francisco Chronicle).
